Been a while due to the busyness of life. Lots of bowling competitions and catching up with jobs but the heat was making everything hard work. Had a wee bit of rain at the van and done our first low upf shop in Asda. Over half way round and didn’t seem to be much in the trolley but looked a lot fuller after the fruit and veg. Plus needed cleaning stuff, kitchen roll etc. Still using stuff up but it’s getting less and having to think more about what to eat. Salad and fruit salad yesterday but the ibs complained about the more salad at lunchtime again today so maybe just a few blueberries after tea tonight as they are safe . Still not sure on lunches.. need to try and make some wraps/galettes or similar . Just think I know what I’m ok eating and up comes a curve ball. Think I’m better sticking to a safe serve of one fruit and adding a few blueberries… I could do combinations but life’s complicated enough. Our seafood deliveries are starting up again on Saturd...

As I mentioned previously I think I’ve also got ibs. This has reared its ugly head a few times lately after I thought I had a handle on it. Trying the Neeva app now to see if this helps at all with the remaining issues. It makes life difficult sometimes ,bit fed up ,but hey ho I’ll get my head around it once again. Winters easier as I don’t go out much when it’s dark at 1530 😅. Today B/f both had flavoured yoghurt.. change to Natural. Not a problem as I often choose that. Lunch me toasted gf roll with jam, some cheese and rs crisps. Ot great but these are safe foods for me. Himself had left over vege bolognaise. Tea true upf. Scampi gf and non ,oven chips. Himself had peas and vienetta. Stomachs still sore so needed something safe. IBS is a real pain…

Well not quite yet… B/f me gf cereal and milk. Well this will need to be a change. I really like this one though it actually tastes ok . There’s one made from Sorghum which I think will need to come into play .. but I’ve half a box left yet. Himself shredded wheat which I believe would be fine.. or could have porridge year round. I don’t tolerate oats like this so porridge is a no for me. Actimel yog again needs just natural. Lunch. Me gf rolls with cheese and tomato , leaves ,Mayo , bakes. Well the cheese , tomato and leaves could stay. Am thinking of trying to make soda bread with gf flour or hm flatbread as I’ve made that before. Will be a while until my supplies run out. Himself scrambled egg, mushroom ,spinach, tomato which is again fine but he had a bag of bakes … maybe ready salted fancy crisps in the cupboard on standby. Tea. So the first post on this blog. Not sure if anyone else watched Panorama on Monday evening about Ultra Processed Foods and the potential harm they are doing to our bodies. I’d already read Tim Spector latest book after hearing him on Radio 4 . It’s a bit of a tome so a half hour programme on tv was obviously going to be cutting out bits. However it’s made me and himself think long and hard about this and we are going to give it a go and try and reduce our upf consumption as much as possible. It won’t be easy with my ibs and being gf and him being vegetarian but we are going to give it a go. For the moment we are eating what we have and thinking if we need to replace and if so with what. Tbh I’m looking forward to the odd slice of home made banana bread for breakfast . So today….
